Simple mindfulness techniques, plus one pro tip, to increase happiness!

simple mindfulness techniques

It is sometimes easy to get caught up in the mundane details everyday life. We often find ourselves rushing from one task to another, without taking the time to stop and appreciate the little things that can bring us joy and happiness. However, by practicing simple mindfulness techniques, we can increase our happiness and improve our overall well-being.

Here are some simple mindfulness techniques to increase daily happiness:

1. Practice gratitude: Take a few minutes each day to reflect on the things for which you are grateful. This can be as simple as appreciating a beautiful sunset or being thankful for a supportive friend.

2. Pay attention to your senses: Take a moment to truly experience the world around you. Notice the colors, smells, and sounds of your environment. What sounds of nature do you hear? What things are special about this season? This can help you feel more connected to the Universe and increase your sense of well-being.

3. Be present in the moment: Instead of being fearful or worrying about the past or future, focus on the present moment. This can help you feel more grounded and reduce feelings of anxiety and stress.

4. Connect with others: Take the time to connect with those around you. This can be as simple as having a conversation with a coworker or spending time with loved ones.

5. Practice self-care: Take care of yourself by engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. This can be anything…like taking a bubble bath, getting massage therapy, or going for a walk outside.

By being mindful of the things around us, we can increase our happiness and improve our overall well-being. So take a moment to appreciate the little things in life and see how it can positively impact your mood and outlook.

Pro Tip

Sometimes we’re so overwhelmed by anxiety, that we have difficulty being present and mindful. When we’re in this state, here’s something you can do on your own:

1. Acknowledge the anxiety or fear you’re feeling – you don’t need to figure why you’re feeling it – simply acknowledging it is enough.

2. Holding a magnet in your hand (any kind of magnet will do, or even just your hand), swipe over part of the Governing Meridian – from the top of your head toward the back of your head works well – with the intention to release and let go of the anxiety. You may have to do this multiple times. Running a magnet over a part of our Governing Meridian (this runs from the top of your upper lip to the base of your spine) triggers a subconscious release of those trapped emotions.

3. Take a deep breath and repeat steps 1-2 until you feel more relaxed.

4. If you need more support, feel free to make an appointment with one of us here at Prodigy Healing, and we’d be happy to help!
